  **UPDATED REVIEW: Although Raymond was a great salesman and got me the deal I wanted, my experience after the sale was disappointing. Before signing the paperwork, I had a verbal agreement that the roof rack would be removed because I did not want it. I was told it would not be an issue and that I could come back after Memorial Day weekend. I returned that Tuesday and was told the service department was very busy…

  and to come back the next day. To avoid any confusion, I proactively made an appointment first thing the following morning. When I arrived, before I could even pull into the service garage, a woman in the service department told me that if the roof rack came with the truck, it could not be removed. I found that very strange because I had already been told by two different employees that removing it would not be a problem. I also knew the roof rack could be removed, but I felt that after purchasing a brand-new vehicle, this was a simple request that should have been honored. I left and called Toyota in Hempstead for a second opinion. They told me they were surprised I had been given that information because removing the roof rack is a simple process that only requires plastic covers and seals to cover the mounting points. They said they could do it, but because I did not purchase the vehicle from them, I would have to pay for the parts and labor. At that point, I became extremely frustrated. I spent much of the day trying to reach a manager at Toyota of Massapequa. Several times I was placed on hold and then disconnected. When I finally got through to a manager, he seemed annoyed that I kept calling and immediately tried to place the blame on my salesperson. I do not believe this was Raymond’s fault at all. My issue was with the service department providing inaccurate information and telling me the roof rack could not be removed without leaving exposed holes in the roof. The manager told me he would speak with the service department and call me back to see what could be done. That call never came. It has now been about three weeks, and I have not received any follow-up whatsoever. In the end, I ordered the parts myself, removed the roof rack on my own, and completed the entire job in less than 10 minutes. The disappointing part is not that there was a misunderstanding—it is the lack of communication and follow-through afterward. Raymond earned my business and was the reason this started as a 5-star experience. Unfortunately, the way management and the service department handled the situation afterward is why this review is now 2 stars. The lack of communication, accountability, and follow-up fell far short of the level of customer service I expected after making such a significant purchase. That being said, I absolutely love the truck. It has lived up to everything I was hoping for and has been a great vehicle so far. My frustration is not with the vehicle itself, but with how this issue was handled after the sale.
