This notice explains how NY Auto Repair Shops uses cookies and similar technologies on nyautorepairshops.com, and how you control them.
What cookies are
Cookies are small data files placed on your device when you visit a website. They can remember preferences, keep you signed in, measure how a site is used, or follow you between sites for advertising. Session cookies expire when you close the browser; persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them. First-party cookies are set by the site you are visiting; third-party cookies are set by someone else whose code the site loads.
What we use today
Analytics, only if you accept. Accepting loads analytics from a third-party provider, which records the pages you view on this site and sets a first-party cookie holding a random identifier, so that repeat visits from one browser are counted as one visitor rather than several. We use it to see which pages are worth keeping.
We do not use it to identify you, record your screen, or follow you to other websites, and we load no advertising or social pixels, web beacons, fingerprinting or mobile SDKs. If you decline, or have not yet answered, the analytics script is never fetched at all.
Separately, and regardless of your answer, we store the answer itself in localStorage under the key nyars-consent with the value granted or denied. It stays on your device, is never sent to us or to anyone else, and exists only so the banner can stop asking.
The categories, and your choice
- Essential. Needed for the site to work. These do not require consent. We currently use none.
- Analytics. Measure which pages are used. These load only if you accept. These are the ones described above.
- Advertising and social. Follow you between sites to target advertising. We do not use these and do not intend to. If that ever changed, this notice would change first and we would ask again.
Declining means non-essential cookies never load for you, rather than loading until you object. Until you answer, we treat it as a decline. Your answer is stored per browser and per device.
How to change your answer
Use Cookie settings here or in the footer of any page to bring the banner back. Clearing your browser storage for this site also resets it.
You can additionally block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and most browsers let you refuse them by default. Nothing on this Site depends on a cookie, so blocking them will not break anything.
Changes
This notice is updated whenever what we set changes. Please check back from time to time.
