As a new Subaru owner, I wanted to wait before writing a review. It's easy to have a great first impression during the sales process, but I wanted to see how my experience would be over time. Now, after a year of owning my Ascent Touring 🥰😍, I can confidently say that every interaction I've had with this dealership has been exceptional. From the sales team to the service department, the level of professionalism and…
customer care has been consistently outstanding. I want to thank my sales consultant, Frank Salomone, who never pressured me into making a purchase. He understood that I was in no rush and took the time to find the exact vehicle I wanted, including the make, model, exterior color, and interior color. His dedication and attention to detail made the buying process enjoyable. He later helped my daughter purchase her Forester as well. A special shout out to our service advisor, Darrell Page, who truly exemplifies excellent customer service. He has always been responsive, knowledgeable, and willing to help. No matter the issue or question, he has consistently made sure our concerns were addressed promptly and professionally. One year later, I remain extremely happy with both my vehicle and the service I've received.
Response from the owner · May 31, 2026: Zelle, this is such a wonderful review to read - thank you for taking the time after a full year with your Ascent Touring. It means a lot to our whole team that your experiences with both sales and service have stayed consistently positive. We’ll be sure to pass your kind words along to Frank and Darrell, who will be thrilled to know they’ve taken good care of you and your daughter. Thanks again for trusting Grand Prix Subaru and for being part of our Subaru family. - HHector★★★★★ May 22, 2026
Me and my wife decided to walk into Grand Prix Subaru to check out an Ascent Onyx edition, Axel greeted us and was very professional, answered all the questions we had. We are super happy with our new vehicle, and I will honestly say that was the smoothest, fastest, most trouble free experience we've ever had purchasing any car. Thank you Axel and Grand Prix Subaru
Response from the owner · May 22, 2026: Hector, thank you for sharing this and for choosing Grand Prix Subaru. We are thrilled to hear that Axel made your visit so smooth and helped you and your wife find the right Ascent Onyx. Enjoy every mile in your new Subaru, and we look forward to seeing you again down the road. - MMathew★☆☆☆☆ February 20, 2026
I visited this showroom yesterday and met with a young salesman named Eitan Katz. He was knowledgeable and represented the brand well. I was considering several vehicles, including a Subaru, Acura MDX, and Porsche Macan, and had appointments lined up in that order. Unfortunately, my experience at Grand Prix was extremely disappointing. I sat there for nearly an hour and a half with very little progress made. The…
process was slow, inefficient, and felt like a complete waste of time. As I was leaving — understandably frustrated — the sales manager I passed on the way out told the salesman to look into incentives for the vehicle I had been considering. It was surprising that this idea came up only after I had already spent 90 minutes waiting. Discussing incentives and pricing options should be part of the initial customer conversation, not an afterthought as someone walks out the door. Customer time should be respected. Efficiency, preparation, and proactive communication are essential in a competitive market — especially when buyers have multiple appointments scheduled elsewhere. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I would not return to Grand Prix, nor would I recommend it to friends or family.
Response from the owner · February 20, 2026: I appreciate you sharing your experience, Mathew, and I truly understand your frustration with the lengthy process during your visit. It's important for us to respect our customers' time and ensure efficient communication from the start. Your feedback regarding the discussion of incentives is valuable and highlights an area where we can improve. If you have further concerns or would like to discuss this matter, please feel free to reach out via text or call. Thank you for your insights. - CCrystal★★★★★ April 21, 2026
As a first-time car buyer with zero experience, I couldn't have asked for a better team to guide me. After comparing this dealership with two others, the experience here was by far the best. The team is incredibly well-organized, friendly, and works seamlessly together. Thanks to Matthew, who was extremely patient in explaining detail and accompanying me on the test drive. I also want to sincerely thank Henry in…
finance; I know I was a challenging customer as I requested several price adjustments, but he remained professional and patient, helping me finalize the deal until I was completely satisfied. They went above and beyond—they even assisted me with setting up my car insurance, which allowed me to drive my new car home the same day! What I value most is their post-sale support. Even after the purchase, Henry is always quick to answer my questions and help me with any concerns. It’s clear they don't just care about making a sale; they care about the customer. I highly recommend (Grand Prix Subaru)this dealership to anyone looking for a trustworthy and supportive team!
Response from the owner · April 21, 2026: Crystal, this means a lot to our whole team, especially knowing it was your first time buying a car. We’re glad Matthew and Henry could make the process clear, low-pressure, and supportive from test drive to financing and beyond. Thank you for choosing Grand Prix Subaru after comparing other dealerships and for recommending us to others. Enjoy your new Subaru, and please reach out anytime you need anything. - LLenny★★★★★ March 17, 2026
Picked up our new 2025 legacy with no issues. Our sales rep Roy Wander made it go extremely well. The sales manager stopped by to introduce himself, if we were satisfied and asked if there was anything else we needed. The paperwork finial signing went quick with no problems or pressure to purchase additions. All in all great experience at this dealership.
Response from the owner · March 17, 2026: Lenny, thank you for taking the time to share this wonderful review. We are thrilled to hear that your experience picking up your 2025 Legacy was smooth and pressure-free, and that Roy and our sales manager took good care of you. Enjoy your new Subaru, and please reach out if you ever need anything down the road. Warm regards from all of us at Grand Prix Subaru. - MMickel★★★★★ July 24, 2025
🚗 Grand Prix Subaru – Hicksville, NY ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2014 – First Visit I have one word: FAMILY. After visiting five dealerships and enduring one truly unprofessional experience, I landed at Grand Prix Subaru—and everything changed. I met Vinny, who introduced me to Jamie Borack, and the connection was instant. Jamie is professional, meticulous, and incredibly accommodating. Her dedication to her clients goes far beyond…
the typical sales experience. She made us feel at home, and that’s why “family” is the word that defines this dealership. You’re not just buying a car—you’re investing in exceptional service and genuine care. Jamie is a superstar, and Grand Prix Subaru made our first Subaru purchase unforgettable. --- 2020 – Trade-In Experience Six years later, I returned to trade in my 2011 CR-V for a 2020 Forester Sport. I was greeted by Andre Chandool, and once again, Grand Prix proved why they’re known for their stellar team. Andre was patient, direct, and incredibly helpful—even taking time the next day to walk me through lease questions. Despite the pandemic, Grand Prix stayed functional and customer-focused. If you’re shopping for a Subaru, ask for Andre and tell him Mick sent you. The 0% APR was just the cherry on top. --- 2023–2025 – Lease Swap & Service Fast forward to our latest visit: we wanted to swap our Forester lease and worked with Agata and Robert in finance. We wanted Ascent 2023 Onyx and took one month to get. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t match our previous visits. Agata was pushy, and another team member joined in to pressure us into upgrading to an Ascent lease. She really was trying to have us pay more. Even the lease swap she wouldnt lower cost. She also told us other add-ons was included but when we got car the add-ons wasnt included. We were disappointed. The original quote jumped $25/month at signing, and the back-and-forth with Robert left us feeling like loyalty no longer mattered. He said I waited until next day but I called and emailed the day before but no response. Which was really an inconvenience. It took 2 weeks back and forth with multiple people. The resolution was $250 in service. So i ended up losing money. It felt like a set-up. The experience was truly stressful from a familiar and what was a safe place. We usually get a follow up and nothing. I had to right GM about this quality of customer service. This is our 4th car from this place. We will see if 2026 we do a 5th. Thankfully, Michael Levine (also Mr Clinton DeClue), our service advisor, continues to be the reason we return. He’s consistent, professional, and truly cares. Without him, we’d be done with Grand Prix. The dealership now charges a 3% credit card fee, and VIP service wait times stretch to 2 hours. The quality isn’t what it used to be, but we see them trying. So with the up and down experience I am still leaving the 5 star rating. Why? I believe in people and this place is still good. They could be great but let's work on building customer experience and trust. --- Boomsauce Scale: 🗑️ B – basura (trash) 😐 BS – basic (come on! Try harder) 👍 BS + – better (Yo! That's better) 🔥 BS ++ – best (alright! Alright! Alrightttt!) 🌟 BS +++ – Amazing location! now that's boomsauce! Trust me—I am vegan.
