Brought my car in with no check engine light to get inspected and was told I needed rear rotors and brake pads. They told me that they could do it for $460. I took it to my mechanic he replaced the pads for $80 and said that I did not need rotors. Took it back to get re-inspected and they wouldn't even look at it for re-inspection. Told me I had to get the rotors. I took it to a different shop and it passed within…
an hour. I think instant state inspection was upset that I didn't pay them $460 just to do my rear brakes and rotors. I'll never be back, and I should report them to New York State.

I got my vehicle inspected last week at another place. I had out of state plates on it. I registered my vehicle yesterday so I needed a new inspection. I was there less than an hour and the staff was super friendly. They also gave me advice on the place I first took it that said I needed pads and rotors and cost a fortune. I would definitely go back to Instant State Inspection for other work as well.

I've always had a good experience here. Probably have been there around 7 times over 15 years. And service has been fine each time.

Showed up at 11:35. There was no other customers there, no work being done and workers sitting in chairs in the garage. They told me they stopped doing inspections at 11:00 because he is the boss and can do whatever he wants. All workers were sitting around doing nothing clocked in but couldn’t give me an inspection.
