  My experience with CarMax in Rochester, New York was outstanding from start to finish. At 75 years old, purchasing a vehicle entirely online was a new experience for me. In the past, I typically evaluated cars in person—either paying cash for a used vehicle or working directly with a salesperson at a dealership and taking a test drive on the spot.   than 2,500 miles away in Riverside, California. While the online search process took a few hours, the result exceeded my expectations. After 20 days of driving my 2024 black Mustang convertible, I can confidently say I am extremely pleased with both the vehicle and the overall experience. Every interaction I had with CarMax associates—both over the phone and in person—was professional, courteous, and efficient. I would especially like to recognize Steve Polizzi, who handled my purchase at the Rochester location. Mr. Polizzi was exceptional: knowledgeable, attentive, and clearly committed to ensuring customer satisfaction. He arranged our test drive and took the time to thoroughly explain the vehicle’s features, from the instrument panel to basic adjustments such as seating and mirrors. When an issue arose with our insurer, GEICO, involving an error in the paperwork, Mr. Polizzi efficiently coordinated the resolution, guiding the process to a prompt correction. In addition, he informed us about CarMax’s owner’s manual reimbursement program and provided the necessary documentation. He clearly explained the company’s 10-day money-back guarantee as well as the 90-day limited warranty. His attention to detail extended even further—he personally ensured the tires were properly inflated and gave the vehicle a final inspection and cleaning before delivery. In every respect, Mr. Polizzi demonstrated professionalism and dedication. We feel fortunate that he managed our purchase, and his efforts contributed significantly to what was truly an excellent car-buying experience. While Steve was working through the problem caused by GEICO, I had a chance to speak with Chuck, the CarMax manager on duty the afternoon of April 8, 2026. He too was very friendly and helpful. I inquired about making use of the 90-day warranty, should the need arise. In particular he explained that for customers like me who live a significant distance from the Rochester CarMax Auto Superstore there is a system for my local mechanic – more than an hour’s drive away – to get per-approval to do the work. Chuck gave me the business card of the Service Manager, Cody Foltz-Oriel. Two minor problems presented themselves in the first few days I had the car: a tire had a slow leak and some of the sound-dampening material on the underside of the car was missing. Mr. Cody Foltz-Oriel responded to my email inquiry about these two problems in less than two minutes. Cody explained how I should proceed in order to get per-approval1, which will result in me avoiding the long drive to and from Rochester. We had a few emails back and forth, and at one point he mentioned, “I’m off today but I will get back to you as soon as I can.” Now that is 100% professional dedication to customer satisfaction! Cody was instantly responsive to each of my questions, and he will receive my local mechanic’s estimate this week. Considering Service Manager Cody Foltz-Oriel’s polite professional tone in our email exchange, I am confident all will go well. Without reservation, I recommend using the CarMax for buying a vehicle.

  I personally loved this whole experience. I loved having everything done so when I got there all I had to do was sign a few papers, pay and get the keys and go. It was effortless. It was clean. The people were so friendly. Granted do I like my car payment as high as it is? No but I need to continue to work on my credit so maybe I can refinance down the line. Thank you for such a great experience.

  Absolutely wonderful, they took the time to stay later even though they were due to close, so we could drive our new jeep renegade home that night. This is the best and I mean the best place to buy a vehicle. They were all so kind and friendly and very patient and helpful.
