  I took my car here after it was recommended to me, and I’m going to continue bringing my car here whenever I have something wrong with it. Mario and the guys are amazing, straight to the point, no bullshit, and make you feel like family. They gave me all new brakes, rotors, and front tires for a great price, and they were super fast. To top it all off, they gave me a bunch of tank tops in 3 different colors!

  I had a dent/scratch from a metal pole and wanted just a cosmetic touch up so it wouldn’t rust, not a total expensive fix. Jose did a great job for a really reasonable price, sourced the right paint in less than a day and was so nice the whole time

  I had used this mechanic for a few simple repairs before, and the experience was acceptable up to a point. I had been a loyal customer, so the way I was treated during this experience was honestly shocking. I brought my car in because the belt had slipped and the tensioner needed to be replaced. They replaced both parts, but immediately after the repair my power steering started failing. This made me think the…

  system may not have been properly bled, the fluid wasn’t filled to the correct level, or something wasn’t installed correctly. Instead of checking their previous work, I was told that the power steering pump and reservoir needed to be replaced. Mario gave me an estimate of $500 for the repair and mentioned it would be even cheaper if I supplied the parts myself. I agreed to the $500 repair, and he told me to come back the next morning. When I arrived, the first thing he asked was, “Do you have the parts?” We had never agreed that I would be bringing them, so this was confusing. Rather than argue, I went to AutoZone because that was the parts store he recommended and bought a new power steering pump and reservoir. After they installed the new parts, the power steering issue was exactly the same. They told me to drive the car for a while to let any remaining air work its way out of the system. I did, but the steering only got worse. When I returned and explained that nothing had improved, Mario immediately became defensive. His first response was to blame the parts, saying I had bought “cheap garbage.” That explanation didn’t make sense to me because I had previously used the exact same brand of power steering pump from AutoZone without any issues. The power steering problem only began immediately after they replaced the belt and tensioner. Instead of looking into that possibility, he refused to inspect the car or troubleshoot the issue further. I’ve spent a significant amount of money, and the power steering issue remains unresolved. What disappointed me the most was not just that the issue wasn’t fixed, but the complete lack of accountability and the way I was treated after being a loyal customer. Based on my experience, I can’t recommend this shop. A good mechanic should stand behind their work, properly diagnose problems, and be willing to investigate when a repair doesn’t solve the issue. My car has already been fixed using the pump I purchased. The pump replacement turned out to be completely unnecessary. You recommended replacing it to resolve the power steering issue, but that diagnosis was incorrect. I essentially wasted my money because of a faulty diagnosis. In the end, the only part that needed to be replaced was a $5 O-ring. I’m disappointed that your mechanics weren’t able to identify such a simple and inexpensive fix before recommending a much more costly repair. On top of that, the pump your shop removed is still in good working condition. There was nothing wrong with it to begin with. I was also told to come back the next morning, and I was given an estimate of around $500 with parts to repair the power steering issue. Can you explain one thing? Which pump were you planning to install for that price? An OEM pump alone costs close to $1,000. Then, when I came back the next day as instructed, you didn’t even have the parts ready, which put me in a very difficult position. I would also like to point out that when I brought the replacement parts to your shop, no one told me there was anything wrong with them or that they weren’t suitable. Instead, you went ahead with the installation and charged me for the labor. It was only after the repair was completed that I started hearing comments that the parts were “trash” and “garbage.” If that was your opinion, it should have been communicated before the work was performed, not afterward.

We installed the customer-supplied parts, but we cannot warranty parts we did not source. We cannot be responsible if outside parts are defective, incorrect, or fail to resolve the issue. This is exactly why repair shops prefer to supply parts through trusted vendors. Buy OEM PARTS NEXT TIME

  They are the absolute best at Salerno’s! Been going here a few years since Ludlow closed and I wish I found them sooner. Always super helpful and transparent. Never have I ever met a mechanic where the price you pay is always lower than the quoted price. Everyone I’ve interacted with is super sweet and helpful. The only place to go.
