I called to get an appointment for a car inspection. Spoke to co-owner Esther who said they don’t do appointments and you just drop in. George the co-owner took care of the inspection. It was quick, friendly, and entertaining. George and Esther are married co-owners who are long time New Yorkers whose customers are long timers and appreciate their kind hearts and humor.

Buyer beware. These guys regularly work on the sidewalk and in front of private driveways which means your vehicle might get TOWED or worse damaged by angry neighbors. They dump toxic fluids directly onto the sidewalk and street and their work spaces are constantly in violation. Buyer beware!!

If you want your car to be ruined even more, this is the place to go. Two days ago, I left my car with a very specific issue: to clean the water drainages and replace the blower motor due to a water leak. Not only were they unable to fix the problem, which would have been fine, but when I came to pick up my car, I found fresh, noticeable scratches on the bumper. Inside the car, parts and screws were scattered all…
over the floor, showing a complete lack of care and professionalism. On top of everything, they tried to charge me $95 just for “inspecting” the car — essentially charging me to point out the same issues I had already brought the car in for. When I questioned the scratches, I asked them to come outside and look. Instead of acting professionally, Evan went off on me, called me a “Russian crook,” and insisted the scratches were already there. Absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
Response from the owner · December 12, 2025: The customer came to us seeking a second opinion, stating that another garage had already told her what was wrong with the vehicle. As with any professional repair shop, we have the right to charge a standard $95 diagnostic fee for our time and expertise when providing an independent inspection and opinion. This was clearly explained. After we completed the diagnosis and notified her that the car was ready, the vehicle was left uncollected for over a week. When she returned, she refused to pay the diagnostic fee and stated that another shop had already looked at the car, despite having asked us to inspect it. She also mentioned that her father owns a shop, raising the question of why she did not go there initially. At pickup, she attempted to claim that we caused body damage and sought free body work, which is completely false. No new scratches were made, and the vehicle was returned in the same condition it was received. There were also no parts or screws left inside the vehicle. Despite the time and labor involved, the vehicle was allowed to leave without payment. We stand by our work, our policies, and our professionalism. - CCoral★★☆☆☆ May 30, 2025
Alright, buckle up. I came in here for an inspection that happened to coincide with my check engine light being on. They took a look at my car and told me I'd need to replace my catalytic converter and O-ring and it would cost me $1700. They said I had no choice but to go through with this if I wanted to pass the inspection since a car can't pass if the check engine light is on, even though my car was running just…
fine, and the catalytic converter issue just affected its' emissions. I got a second opinion elsewhere and they asked me how old my car was. Since it was 25 years old it turns out that it was actually exempt from needing to pass an emissions test (just a safety test) which meant that I actually didn't need to fix the check engine light to pass the test. I called this shop back and told them this information and they fully denied it. I came back to collect my car to take it to the other place and had a frustrating conversation with them where, once I pulled up the relevant state laws on my phone and pointed them out they finally agreed that I was right, whoops. They ended up running my inspection and passing me on the spot. After all that they charged me an additional $100 for the diagnostic even though if they actually knew what they were doing and were on top of the auto laws they would've known that I didn't need to go through all that. I asked if they'd be willing to give me a discount given the context and was refused. So all in all, can't really say I recommend this shop.

You can’t even ask if they have the battery you need without being yelled at to bring your car to the shop first. Awful customer service.
